National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)

Begin or expand upon the culture of training in your unit!  National Youth Leadership Training is a seven-day outdoor experience for Scout Troop and Venturing Crew leaders.  The course teaches Scouts more about leadership through training sessions, group activities and games, and personal challenges.  The course is aligned with Wood Badge, so trained adults and youth are speaking the same language of leadership in the unit.

Advanced leadership training is crucial because it:

  1. Results in better Scouting programs and a better experience for the youth
  2. Improves retention – Scouts stay longer with a better experience
  3. Gives Scouts and Venturers leadership skills they can use in Scouting and school
  4. Makes everyone more effective in dealing with other people.

The goal of NYLT is to build leadership skills that can be put to immediate use in the home units, while pointing young men and women toward a higher level of achievement in Scouting and in life.  Let NYLT help you build leaders in your unit.  Send your youth to NYLT to learn the language of leadership.
