Climbing

Rock Climbing is one of the top outdoor experiences which young people seek today  to challenge their personal skills and their ability to work together in teams. Climbing and rappelling offer excellent opportunities for both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts to learn safe techniques, be appropriately challenged and share in the fun and excitement.

NEIC’s Climbing Committee provides the training, experience, safety supervision and equipment to enable climbing activities for your unit.  Certified through BSA training, these instructors offer a climbing program that individual units can rarely provide.

Our portable climbing wall is available for rental and certified climbing instructors can be provided to enable a safe event.

Camp Oakarro  hosts a bouldering wall and is home to the NEIC Portable Climbing Wall. Climbing Committee members are available to lead your unit’s climbing events.

Climbing Merit Badge will teach you all about this exciting outdoor activity. Learn safe climbing techniques and practice the skills to climb, boulder, rappel, and belay.
