Order of the Arrow Vigil Information

NOTE: To use the online Form, first save form to your PC, then open the form using Adobe Reader application.  If you do not have Adobe it can be found HERE

It is once again time to select new members for the Vigil Honor. The Vigil Honor is the highest honor that our lodge can bestow upon its members. It is a way for the Lodge to recognize members who go above and beyond their immediate responsibilities. The Vigil Honor is only given to those who serve cheerfully and live the scouting spirit in their daily lives.

The Lodge is currently accepting Vigil Information Sheets for possible Vigil candidates. This form maybe completed by anyone, for a Vigil eligible member of the Lodge to be considered for the Vigil honor. Submitting a Vigil_Form2018 (1)for yourself does not add nor take away from your chances of being selected for the Vigil Honor, it allows for data to be more accurate for yourself.  However, possible candidates still need the support of other arrowmen of the Lodge to show that others appreciate what they have done in the Lodge. Do not fill out the information form just because you have information about someone; only fill it out if you wish to show support for a candidate. Candidates are not selected based on the number of information sheets that are submitted, but by the quality of their service record, so please take care when filling out these forms.

Before filling out a form for someone, think to yourself: is this person deserving of this great honor? You should not fill an information sheet out for someone just because they are a friend of yours or because they have been in the Order of the Arrow for a long time. You should only fill one out for someone if they are truly deserving of this honor.

Members are eligible for the Vigil Honor if they have been a Brotherhood member for at least two years and are currently registered with the BSA and are current with their OA dues. The Northeast Illinois Council Office and each chapter will have a copy of who is eligible. Forms are available HERE to the Vigil Candidate Biography forms.

The information forms must be submitted by November 22, and can be either emailed to oalodge40@gmail.com, or mailed to:
