Welcome to the new and improved 2020 Membership site! Here you will find everything you need to have a successful and streamlined registration using our new recruitment model. Below you can view an outline of our membership plan, see your unit's goals for 2020, order your recruitment materials, look through a step-by-step outline for your registration event, and learn how to hold a Parent Orientation night and find new volunteers.

Step 1: Review the 2020 Membership Plan

Our 2020 Membership Plan combines two simple components to guarantee a successful recruitment for your unit:
1. FREE targeted social media marketing based on the location of your community registration events.
2. A simple, step-by-step guide to holding a "registration-table" style recruitment, which has shown proven success among our units who have adopted the model. Message to unit leaders from the Vice President of Membership.

Step 2: Know your Registration Goals & Incentives

Setting a goal for recruitment ensures that your unit grows at a healthy pace and replaces dropped youth and crossovers.

Step 3: Order Registration Materials

All successful registration events begin with effective promotion. Thanks to our Friends of Scouting we can offer recruitment materials at ZERO COST to Cub Scout Packs. The NEIC will produce custom flyers, postcards, and wristbands for your unit, as well as supply a bunch of other cool promotional tools. Click the shopping cart to order your recruitment materials! We recommend ordering them at least 3 weeks before your event.

Digital Materials
Gone paperless? The BSA Brand Center is an excellent resource for downloadable flyers, posters, postcards, brochures, video content, and more. If your unit communicates or promotes digitally, this is the best place to start.

Step 4: Plan your Registration Event

Parents have already decided that they want to join Scouting when they come to your event, so why not make it easy for them? This model gives families the information they need to start their Scouting adventure and ensures that new youth leave as official Scouts that very day.

Remember to turn-in your application at your District September Roundtable or the Kasperson Center for Scouting (850 Forest Edge Drive Vernon Hills)
